Going to start planning now. Only thing, hubby will probably tag along (he's harmless honestly). Great way to meet fellow Joey fans!

Good news Fran, a few of the authors and readers brought their husbands/boyfriends this year, and it sounds like even more are bringing them next year. A couple of them actually registered fully for the conference and attended the panels with their wives. Others just came along but did their own thing during the weekend while their wives went crazy at the panels, dinners and events.

Hubby would have to tag along, unless I found him a friend to play with! What is the weather like that time of year?

Hi Fran,
It will be nearing mid-August in Philly during that time. Usually it's the hottest month of the year. Weather can range from the lower 80s to high 90s. I would pack for HOT weather.

In Australia it will be winter- rainy/cold weather. Looking forward to it. How far is it-as in flight hrs- from L.A (thats where we would fly into from Oz)?

LOL... That's not hot!!! says Goldilocks... That's just right LOL. Though the humid part might make it nasty.
Fran... flights from Sydney to LA vary. But direct is about 13 to 14 hours. Don't forget though that you'll still have to fly west coast to east coast in the US to get to AAD. Similar distance from west coast to east coast of Australia... say Perth to Brisbane.... so add another 5 or so hours + time spent at airports between flights. I've been doing a bit of searching and as it's right around peak season to be travelling, it's pretty pricey. The cheapest I've found so far is Air New Zealand... you might save from $600 to $1000/person but you do have to fly through Auckland which will add about another 4 hours to your Sydney/LA flight.

LMAO, Shyness. No, it's not really that hot, without humidity. But we did manage to get into the 100s this past August. Personally, I prefer the low 80s...perfect.

Hahaha... I think you'll manage that without any Southern Hemisphere help!!
Fran, I'm trying to see if I can organise some work visits around the same time so my going depends a little on those type of outside factors. I probably need to make a decision soon though as the good flights fill up quickly etc etc

LOL... Slight slip of the tongue there Kelly... Don't worry though. Your plans are safe with me. I mean, I would never pass on all the details about your real intentions for world domination. It's all going to start with the T-shirts... Oh shit, I've already said too much... LOL

Just to let all of you know, the AAD Bookie Award nominees were announced today. Amongst the lucky noms, were Joey's Vampire Mistress, Vampire Trinity, Honor Bound, and Branded Sanctuary. Also, thanks to those fans who were in attendance during the convention, The Joey W. Hill Fan Forum was nominated as Fan Site of the year!
All the more reason to be in attendance next year!

That is great news about the nominations. Once the voting starts we'll all have to see if we can crash their system!!

I can only take a small part of the credit Kelly. Kreative Kat worked her magic once again!
Do you have "The IT Crowd" in the US? It's a British comedy about IT. Soooo funny!!

Shyness, I work in IT, so I had someone point me to the episodes on YouTube a couple of years ago. I laughed so hard! But no, it's not played on any of the stations in the US. Which is too bad because I think more people need to see it.
